    Von Virserum ist es nicht weit bis zum nächsten Älgpark in Målilla, zur Astrid Lindgren World oder Ihrem Geburtshaus in Vimmerby. Auch die Insel Öland oder die Schären bei Västervik sind gut in Tagestouren erreichbar.”

    “Der Ort Virserum macht den Eindruck, dass er schon bessere Tage erlebt hat. Die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in dem ICA-Markt an dem alten Bahnhof sind gut und preislich ok. Man muss jedoch mit dem Auto oder Fahrrad (siehe Bemerkungen oben) fahren, um die Einkäufe ins Haus zu bringen. Eine Gastronomie fand aus unserer Sicht nicht statt. Das kleine Zentrum mit Möbelmuseum, Kunsthalle usw. ist sehenswert und lohnt einen Besuch. Ansonsten sind die Freizeitmöglichkeiten sehr begrenzt. Dafür entlohnen einen die Besuche bei Pippi Langstrumpf und dem Elchpark Malilla, die jeweils mit dem Pkw in gut einer Stunde erreichbar sind. Das waren unvergessliche Erlebnisse. Sport und Freizeiteinrichtungen konnten wir im Ort nicht entdecken. Das Preisniveau entspricht dem schwedischen Niveau und ist deshalb nicht zu kritisieren.”
